Sultana Islam

Finance and administration professional with more than 14 years of diversified experience in international development organizations, corporate internal audit, and chartered accountancy practices. She possesses strong expertise in financial management, budgeting, accounting, audit coordination, donor compliance, NGO Affairs Bureau reporting, procurement, taxation, organizational capacity assessment, and partner financial monitoring.

Sultana is a Chartered Accountancy part-qualified professional under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and also holds Income Tax Practitioner (ITP) certification from NBR, Bangladesh.

She is currently serving as Officer – Finance at ActionAid Bangladesh and previously worked with Simavi for over eight years in finance, administration, compliance, and partner management roles.

Throughout her career, she has successfully managed financial operations, ensured compliance with organizational and donor policies, prepared financial reports, coordinated audits, and supported emergency response and development programmes.

Prior to her NGO experience, she worked as Deputy Manager – Internal Audit at Debonair Group, where she gained valuable expertise in risk management, compliance review, VAT and tax monitoring, and operational auditing within the garments sector. She also served at KHAN Ayub Chartered Accountants in Audit & Assurance, contributing to internal and external audit assignments, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.

She has strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and professional reporting. Her extensive experience in finance and compliance makes her highly capable of supporting development programmes, organizational governance, and institutional strengthening initiatives.
