Md. Sharafat Hossain
Professional Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), Management Information Systems (MIS), and Data Management expert with over 28 years of professional experience in development programming, research, and information systems. Holding an M.Sc. (Statistics) from the University of Rajshahi, he has built an outstanding career supporting national and international development organizations through evidence-based planning, monitoring, data analytics, and organizational learning.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hossain has held senior technical positions with renowned organizations including RDRS Bangladesh, Virginia Tech (USA), IMC Worldwide Ltd. (UK), Save the Children, Practical Action Bangladesh, CARE Bangladesh, and SHUSHILAN. His expertise spans project monitoring and evaluation, database management, digital data collection, GIS mapping, statistical analysis, dashboard development, and impact assessment for large-scale donor-funded programs supported by USAID, the World Bank, DFID, PKSF, and other international agencies.
He possesses advanced technical skills in KoboToolbox, SPSS, Power BI, R Programming, SQL/MySQL, ArcGIS, QGIS, Microsoft Access, Advanced Excel (VBA), and PHP-based MIS development. He has designed and managed complex digital data collection systems, developed organizational MIS platforms, conducted baseline, midline, and endline evaluations, and produced high-quality analytical reports that inform strategic decision-making.
As a consultant and master trainer, Mr. Hossain has successfully delivered capacity-building programs on MEAL systems, GIS, data visualization, statistical analysis, digital survey design, and management information systems for government agencies, NGOs, INGOs, and research institutions. His consultancy portfolio includes assignments with UN Women, Manusher Jonno Foundation, The Hunger Project Bangladesh, and several leading consulting firms.
