World Health Day 2025: Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures

Good Health for Sustainable Development: A Key to Achieving the 2030 Agenda

Good health is central to sustainable development, addressing pressing issues such as economic inequalities, urbanization, climate change, and the ongoing challenges of infectious diseases, including HIV. It also tackles emerging concerns like non-communicable diseases. SDG 3 focuses on improving health outcomes through 13 targets and 28 indicators aimed at making progress towards a healthier world.

The role of nursing staff is very important in ensuring high quality medical care. This role needs to be properly evaluated and recognized.

  • Reducing maternal mortality
  • Ending preventable deaths in children under 5
  • Combating communicable diseases
  • Promoting mental health and reducing mortality from non-communicable diseases
  • Universal access to sexual and reproductive health services
  • Achieving universal health coverage
  • Reducing deaths from road injuries, pollution, and hazardous chemicals

The goal is to ensure equitable access to healthcare, strengthen health systems, and advance global health research, especially in developing countries. Let’s work together to make health a right for all and achieve the 2030 Agenda.
